AP BOOTCAMP at WPHS

With summer just around the corner, we wanted to reach out with some exciting news!

We are pleased to offer our students taking AP courses during the 2024-25 school year a 4-day AP Bootcamp session this July. The goal of the program is to provide students who are taking an AP course a strong foundation to ensure their success in the course. The program will also assist students in being able to best complete their summer assignments for those specific courses. The AP Bootcamp will take place Monday, July 8th through Thursday, July 11th. Courses offered during session one will run from 8am-10am and courses offered in session two will run from 10am to 12pm.

Students who are enrolling in the following courses are invited to attend:

  • AP Language & Composition (offered session 1) 
  • AP Literature & Composition (offered session 2)
  • AP Biology (offered session 1)
  • AP Environmental Science (offered session 1)
  • AP Physics (offered session 1) 
  • AP Calculus AB (offered session 2)
  • AP World History (offered session 2) 
  • AP Chemistry (offered session 2)
  • AP Statistics (offered session 2) 
  • Multivariable Calculus (offered session 1)

Calculation-Based Courses 

(all mathematics courses, AP Chemistry, AP Physics)

These Bootcamp courses in mathematics and science will focus on the foundational knowledge and skills needed to complete the summer assignments in each subject. Students will review content and practice problem-solving that will enable them to “hit the ground running” when the course starts in September.

English Language Arts, Social Studies and AP Biology/Environmental Science

These Bootcamp courses will focus on the reading, writing, and interpretation of text and visual content needed to be successful in a college level course. Organization and study skills will also be discussed. Students will practice critical reasoning and formulating responses to content-based prompts.

In the Community

  PROGRAMS THROUGH THE WHITE PLAINS YOUTH BUREAU AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

The Youth Bureau is offering an amazing summer job opportunity -  Summer Medical Leadership Program for WP youth 14 & 15 years of age who are interested in pursuing careers in the medical field. The youth attend workshops, trainings & tours at White Plains Hospital, NY Medical College, Burke Rehabilitation Center, and College of Westchester just to name a few.  The job program runs from Monday, July 1st-Friday, August 9th, 9am-3pm.

AP BOOTCAMP DE WPHS

Con el verano a la vuelta de la esquina, queríamos llegar con algunas noticias emocionantes.

Nos complace ofrecer a nuestros estudiantes que tomaran cursos AP durante el año escolar 2024- 25 una sesión de AP Bootcamp de 4 días este julio (lunes a jueves). El objetivo del programa es proporcionar a los estudiantes que están tomando un curso AP una base sólida para garantizar su éxito en el curso. En la Comunidad

  PROGRAMAS A TRAVES DE LA OFICINA JUVENIL DE WHITE PLAINS 

La Oficina del Servicio de Empleo Juvenil de WPHS esta abierta.  El horario es de lunes a viernes de 9-3 pm. Los estudiantes pueden pasar a ver a Janet Spencer para conocer oportunidades laborales, solicitudes de permisos de trabajo e información sobre servicios comunitarios.
