Did You Know….
The White Plains Youth Bureau (WPYB) has a
Youth Employment Office in H-Cafeteria at WPHS?!!!WPHS students can drop in to learn about job opportunities, community service opportunities, pick-up work permit applications, or find out more information about Youth Bureau programs.
The office is open Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm

Teen Lounge Takeover!
Program Description: Come hang out at the Teen Lounge after school and play ping pong, video games, air hockey, basketball, board games and more. New PS5 with 2023 games. Homework help and snacks are available. Van rides from Highlands to the Teen Lounge at the Youth Bureau are available Mondays – Fridays and van rides home are Mondays- Thursdays.
Location: White Plains Youth Bureau Teen Lounge
Meeting Time: Mondays – Fridays 3pm – 7pm
Open Gym
Program Description: White Plains youth are welcome to come play basketball in a structured environment. Professional athletic coaches assist all who attend in mastering the rules and strategies of the game. All skill levels are welcome from beginners to advanced. All who come, play!
Location: White Plains Youth Bureau Lower Gym
Meeting Time: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays 3pm – 8pm, Saturdays 3pm – 8pm
Coordinator: Stephen Duncan, Wilson MorontaGirls with Impact
Program Description: This is a powerful introduction to the world of business for Middle School and High School girls. This is a live, virtual entrepreneurship program conceptualized just for girls. This ‘mini-MBA’ program equips girls with the skills, knowledge and confidence to become the leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators of tomorrow. Girls accumulate 35 hours of community service and participation looks great on resumes.
Location: 10 – week virtual sessions
Meeting Time: Tuesday @ 7pm, Wednesday @ 8pm, or Saturday @ 12pm *next 12-wk cohort starts Mar. 13th
Coordinator: Girls with Impact Providers / Gina Covington
Girl Power Productions
Program Description: A special place where Middle School and High School Girls work together to create multimedia projects with a focus on the community. Girls are introduced to video production and work together to develop informative pieces that are posted on social media.
Location: White Plains Youth Bureau
Meeting Time: (Fall sessions only)
Coordinator: Avery Phillips
Toastmasters
Program Description: Develop and improve your public speaking skills while strengthening your leadership and organizational skills in a fun and engaging environment. Youth increase confidence in public speaking. This skill will help youth at both college and employment interviews.
Location: White Plains Youth Bureau
Meeting Time: The 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm or zoom in from home!

Tutoring
Program Description: We have tutors to help students experiencing difficulties in Math, Science, essay writing and standardized testing. Why struggle when help is available? Tutors can meet in person or via zoom.
Location: White Plains Youth Bureau
Meeting Time: varies based on student and tutor schedules.
Boxing and Muay Thai
Program Description: Boxing is coming back to the Youth Bureau starting March 6th! Prepare to train and learn the basics as well as hone your skills for those who have already enjoyed this sport in the past. Our instructor will also teach Muay Thai to students as well. Muay Thai is a combat sport that uses stand up striking along with various clinching techniques.
Both these practices expose our students to self-defense, critical thinking and exercise all-in-one. Both Middle School and High School girls and boys welcome!
Location: White Plains Youth Bureau Fitness Room
Meeting Time: Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 4pm – 6pm
